It all started quite spectacular, with the very first Monolake gig in Berlin, in July 1996. Or perhaps it started a bit more intimate, with the 'Symmetrisches Konzert' inside a former paint shop also in Berlin, some day in 1996 or 1995? Since then a lot of things did happen: collaborations, experiments, one-time special events, site specific performative works, long running projects which did evolve over time.
